pottery workshop
two groups, 4-6 and 6-8 pm
The pottery lessons for adults are about to start! Participants will be able to discover, step-by-step, the techniques of pottery with the aid of an experienced ceramist! The first cycle is about the technique of moulding by hand, making artefacts out of slab of coiled clay, decorating and glazing them.
At a first stage our forms will be inspired by works of older, traditional or more recent pottery. Upon completing the three-month cycle, participants will be able to continue by learning additional techniques and the secrets of firing, decorating and glazing clay.

Polytimi Biliona
She lives in Nafplio since 2011. She has trained as a ceramist at the OAED School and apprenticed herself in the studio of Andreas Makaris. Her ceramic creations, since 1993, stand out for the personal style she conveys through them. She employs various techniques such as carved decorations inspired by prehistoric pottery, perforation, and the Raku firing technique from Japan.
