Quartet Francky Reinhardt LIVE

gypsy jazz & swing concert
Sunday 30 July 9.30pm

On Sunday 30 July at 9.30pm, FOUGARO ARTCENTER in cooperation with FichtiArt Festival hosts an admission free concert by the Quartet Francky Reinhardt, for a unique gypsy jazz & swing evening!

Francky Reinhardt was born into swing and the music of Django Reinhardt. So, it was only natural to follow the path of his famous uncle and to set up his own quartet, surrounded by his son Jessy, singer-guitarist, and his long-time friends and acolytes, Julien Pidancier on violin and Roland Grob on double bass.

The passion that drives these four exceptional musicians is extremely infectious, and is sure to touch the hearts of a very wide audience, from the most music-loving to the uninitiated. The repertoire alternates between personal arrangements of great swing, French songs, gypsy music and Jessy and Francky's own compositions.

Gypsy jazz is a style created and made popular by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s. The Hot Club de France quintet played a key role in shaping the genre. Known as "gypsy jazz" in English-speaking countries, gypsy jazz is a fusion of jazz and traditional gypsy music.
