FOUGARO ARTCENTER welcomes three famous school bands from America for three unique concerts !!!

The bands of Champlin Park High School, Rosemount High School and Thomas Jefferson High School, 3 schools from Minnesota, at FOUGARO GALLERY.

Sunday 10 March, 7.00pm

Champlin Park High School

Champlin Park High School is a four-year public high school in Champlin, Minnesota, United States. The school's name comes from the combination of Brooklyn Park and Champlin. Opened in the fall of 1992, CPHS is currently in the top largest high schools in the state with over 3000 students.

Since 2006, Champlin Park has been an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program school.  In 2012, 2013 and 2014, Champlin Park High School received recognition as a “Newsweek Top School,” a distinction recognizing the top high schools across the country.  The school runs on a five-period, trimester curriculum.

The Music program at Champlin Park has several Band, Choir, and Orchestra performing ensembles as well as Percussion Studio, Voice lab, Music Exploration, IB Music, and World Drumming classes. Outside of the school day, there are several co-curricular ensembles such as fiddle club, vocal jazz, jazz band, pep band, caroling group, chamber orchestra, and marching band.  

The Band program has traveled extensively in the US, as well as performing tours to Germany, Austria, France, and Spain. The teenage musicians will start their tour in Greece from the FOUGARO ARTCENTER in Nafplio.

Rosemount High School

Rosemount High School is a public comprehensive high school with an enrollment of over 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12. Rosemount is a suburban community twenty miles south of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The Rosemount High School Choir Program is conducted by Mr. Steve Albaugh, Ms. Laura Sandham, and Ms. Gina Toso. Over 300 students are enrolled in seven choirs in addition to numerous co-curricular ensembles. Annually, individual choir members and ensembles are awarded superior ratings in Minnesota State Solo and Ensemble contests. In addition, RHS choir students have consistently been selected to the prestigious Minnesota All-State Choir. 

The Rosemount High School Dance Program is directed by Ms. Christina Morris.  The Dance Department offers students a broad range of courses designed to help them develop as artistic performers while gaining a life-long appreciation for the arts and an understanding of the important role artistic expression continues to play in our culture.

The Rosemount High School Choral and Dance Ensemble has been organized to offer advanced choral music and dance students from RHS an exciting opportunity to present a performance tour on the European continent during the spring of 2018.

Thomas Jefferson High School

The Thomas Jefferson High School Music Department from Bloomington, Minnesota, hosts a wide variety of musical opportunities for its students, including four concert bands, two jazz ensembles, marching band, two orchestras, three choirs, three levels of guitar, two levels of Audio Production, and two levels of Piano Lab.

As a means to provide each student with the opportunity to develop their musical potential to its fullest, the Jefferson Band Program adopts a comprehensive approach to music education, which includes a well-balanced curriculum of large ensemble and chamber performances, solo performances, studies in music theory, musical terminology, and cultural and historical perspectives.

The Jefferson Bands maintain a long tradition of performance travel, and have toured internationally on an every-other-year basis since the school’s inception in 1970. The Jefferson concert bands have toured Japan, Spain, Norway, Africa, England, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Canada, The Dominican Republic, Italy, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica.
