VON HOESSLE | MEHLER | SARRIGEORGIOU

painting, sculpture & photography
November 2019 – April 2020

On Thursday, 7 November 2019, FOUGARO @ATHENS14 presents the exhibition SONJA EDLE VON HOESSLE | HERBERT MEHLER | ALEXIS SARRIGEORGIOU. Combining the work of three artists, the exhibition features sculptures, photography and paintings.

Sonja Edle von Hoeßle narrates in her paintings the composition and de-composition of the environment, using painting materials of different kinds and textures.

Also inspired by the natural world, Herbert Mehler creates supernatural biomorphic sculptures, blending elliptical curvatures with bold bright colours.

Alexis Sarrigeorgiou in his photographs highlights the dynamics of both shapes and colour, offering us an insight into specific moments, capturing light and ambience with details of the environment and the macrocosm.

Running through March 2020, the exhibition sheds light on both obvious and subtle affinities in the work of three artists from very different backgrounds. The joint presentation of their work aims to promote our understanding of the contemporary world’s polyphony.
