1911

Kostis Minaios starts building a factory under his name, "K. Minaios", next to his home at Assini. The site was ideal for growing tomatoes due to the fertile silt deposits and the excellent irrigation.

1932

The company earns the gold medal at the 7th International Fair of Thessaloniki. It evolves in a spectacular fashion, with exceptional growth figures.

1936

Completion of the new facilities, the ones that house FOUGARO today.

The same year, a public company (S.A.) is formed with the participation of the founder's elder brother, Georgios Minaios, an attorney in Nafplion, and his son-in-law Nikos Skiadas, a chemical engineer from an Argolic family of entrepreneurs.

1941 - 1944

During the German occupation the factory is commandeered by Wehrmacht to make products for the German army.

1948

The company is renamed as "Anthos Nafpliou" Agricultural Canning Industries, and operates under this title until 1955.

1957

The factory's operations cease.

1960s

The facility comes under the ownership of the National Bank of Greece. Stripped of its engineering equipment, the complex houses repair shops, ironmongeries and small-scale artisan operations.

1997

The facility is purchased by the current owner.

2002

Refurbishment of the building complex begins.

2004

In view of the historical importance of the industrial facility, the new ownership takes the initiative to have it declared a listed building by the State.

2012

FOUGARO opens on October 28.
