27 June - 12 September 2025

The open-air CINE FOUGARO starts once again on June 27 with free admission!!

This year's programme is dedicated to classic foreign films we have all loved.

Comedies, cinephile, crime and western films from around the world will keep company to cinema buffs of all ages! The screenings will take place at 3DENDRA, and the programme is to run through September 12.

Friday 1 August, 9.00pm

Dolce vita | Federico Fellini, 1960, 174'
A journalist wanders around Roman nightlife in search of a meaning between futility and excess. Fellini directs a triumph of style and image, a symbol of European cinema. A sharp portrayal of people's inner void and the decadence of high society.

Friday 8 August, 9.00pm

À bout de souffle - Breathless | Jean-Luc Godard, 1960, 90'
A small-time crook roams around Paris with an American student, in a hymn to freedom and lawlessness. Godard deconstructs classical filmmaking with his revolutionary style and his anarchic editing. The starting point of Nouvelle Vague, with its own indelible mark on modern cinema.

Friday 15 August, 9.00pm

12 angry men | Sidney Lumet, 1957, 95'
Twelve jurors must decide the fate of a defendant, and one of them remains unconvinced. A masterful, claustrophobic drama with social and moral implications. Exemplary use of setting and dialogue, with Henry Fonda at his best.

Friday 22 August, 9.00pm

Vertigo | Alfred Hitchcock, 1958, 128'
A former policeman is haunted by the image of a woman he can neither forget nor understand. Hitchcock directs his most personal and psychoanalytical work, a labyrinthine film where the boundaries of gaze, memory and love are blurred.

Friday 29 August, 9.00pm

The Maltese Falcon | John Huston, 1941, 100'
A private detective gets mixed up in a deadly game around a mysterious precious statuette in this epitome of the film-noire, with Humphrey Bogart as the definitive tough guy. Atmospheric, dark and elliptical, this is a cornerstone in American cinema.

Friday 5 September, 9.00pm

Shichinin no Samurai - Seven Samurai | Akira Kurosawa, 1954, 207'
Seven warriors defend a village against bandits in an epic lesson of humanity, honour and collective action. Kurosawa directs with surgical precision and sculpts legendary heroes in one of the greatest epic films of all time which had a profound influence on Western cinematography.

Friday 12 September, 9.00pm

A fistful of dollars | Sergio Leone, 1964, 99'
A mysterious stranger takes advantage of the vendetta between two rival gangs in a dusty city. Sergio Leone reworks the genre of Western films with stylised violence and an eerie atmosphere. Clint Eastwood is born as the emblematic "man without a name".
