Art Seminars | Every Wednesday at the LIBRARY
FOUGARO LIBRARY launches a new series of Art Seminars this May!
Do you also belong to those who find Contemporary Art difficult to understand?
Do you look at iconic Modernist artworks and wonder, “Why is this considered Art?”
These and many other questions will be explored in FOUGARO LIBRARY’ s new educational seminar series, designed for anyone who wishes to approach the world of Art in a meaningful and accessible way, with no prior knowledge required.
Cycle A, beginning on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, includes 7+1 weekly two-hour sessions with Antonis Kontroyiannis, Art Historian and FOUGARO collaborator, dedicated to the major transformations that shaped modern artistic thought.
From the paintings of J. M. W. Turner to the avant-garde movements of the 20th century, participants will explore the key artistic breakthroughs that changed the way we perceive images. Through movements and creators that radically transformed visual expression, we will discover how Art experiments and evolves while engaging with History, Society, and everyday experience.
The program is addressed to teenagers and adults of all ages, cultural professionals, educators, and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Modern and Contemporary Art without academic barriers or specialized knowledge.
