Creative Sewing
Taking a trip across different ages and trends of fashion, we shall delve into the magical world of garments and create a wearable work of art!
Beginners' classes are addressed to teenagers and adults without prior experience but with enthusiasm and imagination. Participants will get acquainted with the design and creation of garments and objects (bags, boxes, etc.) and acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills around fabrics. Starting from the basics (using sewing machines and tape measures, basic hand-sewing techniques), we proceed into batik (painting on fabric), decorative needlework, collage patterns, printing on fabric, and so on. Finally, we shall make a handbag and a tunic dress.
Nicoletta Rafailidi
Born in 1969 in Athens, she grew up in Nafplio. In 2019 she graduated from DIEK Epidaurus as a fashion & footwear technology technician, and is active in creative sewing, fashion design and creation, weaving, embroidery, painting on fabric, furniture upholstery. She collaborates with FOUGARO since December 2017.
