Fabric workshop
After five consecutive annual cycles of creative sewing, this year at FOUGARO we embark on an expanded journey into the world of fabric! The making of fabrics goes back to the beginnings of human history, and incorporates the traits if civilisations.
Focusing on sewing, in this workshop we shall learn its main principles and we shall go into patchwork techniques in order to create utility objects and enhance our everyday environment. Moreover, we shall gain experience in techniques and design and we shall acquaint ourselves with needlework by hand or sewing machine and with our tools and materials.
Over the year we shall focus on the art of textiles through the practice of the distinguished artists and craftspeople whom we shall host.
The workshop is addressed to beginners; prior knowledge in the use of sewing machines is not necessary.

Nicoletta Rafailidi
Born in 1969 in Athens, she grew up in Nafplio. In 2019 she graduated from DIEK Epidaurus as a fashion & footwear technology technician, and is active in creative sewing, fashion design and creation, weaving, embroidery, painting on fabric, furniture upholstery. She collaborates with FOUGARO since December 2017.
