FOUGARO JAZZ FESTIVAL #2

9 ensembles – 39 top musicians
in a top-quality programme from traditional jazz to its latest forms
26, 27 & 28 September 2014

Following on the great success of the Fougaro Jazz Festival #1, this year's Fougaro Jazz Festival #2 will be held on Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September at 8.30pm. Fougaro's jazz festival welcomes music lovers once again and hosts jazz trends by musicians of international calibre who participate in the most representative ensembles of the genre and perform a wide range of music.

Fougaro Jazz Festival #2 has grown from two to three days while retaining free admission to the public. Following the same style, it features an enriched programme with more choices in progressive, ethnic, swing, world, fusion music and more.

Additionally, on Saturday 27 September, 12.00 – 13.00, the top Greek drummer and jazz composer Yorgos Trantalidis will talk about the fascinating journey of rhythm, from Africa to gospel and the blues and up to rock and contemporary jazz. His seminar on "Rhythm, the key element of music" will be about his personal experience, together with a presentation of material addressed not only to professional musicians but also to those interested in music.

The Jazz Festival is a wager for Fougaro, aimed at adding a fresh breath of air to Nafplio and establishing the city as a musical and cultural destination. The Art director of Fougaro Jazz Festival #2 is Haris Kavadias.
