THE CAVE CHILDREN
Vassilis Vlachakos (guitar, bass), Dimitris Stergiou (drums), Orestis Benekas (keyboard)
Formed two years back, the Athenian quartet counts among its influences the music of Danny Elfman, the Beatles of 1969, the sarcasm of Frank Zappa, England in the ’90s, Greek music and the new psychedelic rock scene. Dreamy psychedelic tunes, cinematic motifs and unprocessed garage rock come together to accompany their existential, sarcastic lyrics. All this is present in their first album, “Quasiland". The prexif quasi in the title is a comment on the conditions of political, social and professional uncertainty in which the project was completed. “Quasiland” is available as digital album, CD and vinyl with a bonus CD by Inner Ear. On 13/5/15 the band was added in the Buzz Playlist of Britain's ΝΜΕ.
PURE SECONDS
Konstantinos Spiliotis (vocals, guitar), Kostas Karachalios (guitar), Alexandros Abdelrachim (bass), Kostas Baltasis (drums)
An English-speaking rock band from Nafplio, Pure Seconds was formed in the autumn of 2006 by composer and lyricist Konstantinos Spiliotis. Their sound carries influences from Britain's pop/rock/alternative music scene. Over the years, the band has been active in concerts with, among others, Blaine Reininger, Imam Baildi, Yannis Haroulis as support band. They are currently recording their first album.
KID FLICKS
Nikos Dervisis (vocals, electronics, guitar), Themos Ragousis (bass, vocals), Danae Palaka (drums), Haris Neilas (percussion, electronics)
Kid Flicks are the project of songwriter and producer Nikos Dervisis. Having released two albums with Inner Ear Records (Hearts of Gold and By Typing I Talk, You Don't Talk) in 2011 and 2013, they complete a five-year cycle of lo-fi psych-pop, bedroom recordings; both albums were positively reviewed in the Greek and foreign press (Impose Magazine, DIY Magazine, No Fear of Pop). The advent of Thenos Ragousis, Danae Palaka and Haris Neilas led to an ensemble that mingles pop tunes, polyrhtythmic grooves, ecstatic electronics, samples, modified guitars and folklore references. Their third album is scheduled for 2015. They have performed at the European Day of Music, the Kakoyiannis Foundation invited by Last Drive, the Demetria festival in Thessaloniki, the Saristra Festival and next to artists like Craft Spells and Slow Magic.
ΣTELLA
Σtella (vocals, guitar), Velissarios Prassas (bass), Danae Oikonomidou (keyboard, vocals), Kopul (drums)
Stella Chronopoulou, best known as Σtella, is a pop singer-composer, painter and multi-instrumentalist. Born and raised in Athens, she graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts and began to write music. In 2011 she and Alexis Zobaras formed the Fever Kids. Their first single, "Holding Grass", came out in January 2014 by Inner Ear and was favourably reviewed. In 2012 she launched on her soundcloud page her first EP, "Keep Me Naked". Additionally, she has collaborated with Greek artists such as My Wet Calvin, Sillyboy, Coti K, NTEiBINT, Sad Disco and formed the Chest band with Babis Theocharis. Her first personal album was launched in early 2015 by Inner Ear.
BABY GURU
King Elephant, Prins Obi, Sir Kosmiche, Kon Kon
The band's name was inspired by the kraut rock band Guru Guru and Captain Beefheart's song "Ella Guru". In 2010 they released their first EP, "Yogi Sister vol.I & vol.ΙΙ", with their first record of the same title, influenced by the German kraut rock with a more pop character, coming out in the autumn of ‘11 by Inner Ear. In 2012 Baby Guru wrote the music for the play "Why I killed my best friend", adapted from the novel of Amanda Michalopoulou, and later launched the electronic EP "Covers". Their second album, "Pieces", influenced by’60’s psychedelia, was released abroad by Rough Trade and V2 and was supported by a tour in the Netherlands. Last year's album "Marginalia" was well received by publications such as ΝΜΕ, Les Inrockuptibles and Examiner. Nine months ago they appeared at the CMJ Music Marathon Festival in New York, and were described as on of the five most memorable appearances in the event.
A VICTIM OF SOCIETY
Vangelis Makris (vocals, laptop, guitar), Fotis Douskas (guitar), Pantelis Karasevdas (drums)
A Victim Of Society is a lo-fi project formed in 2011 in Athens. Their first release was a DIY tape with six tracks in 120 copies. An ensuing collaboration with Sweet Mistake Productions/Fractal Press resulted in a 7” EP featuring “Fake Friends” and “You’re Gonna Hate Me”. The same year, Fuzz Club Records σε in collaboration with the Austin Phych Festival released the collection Reverb Conspiracy vol.1, which included their song “You’re Gonna Hate Me” as well as works by psych rock bands such as Dead Skeletons, The Underground Youth, The KVB. In 2013 they opened the concerts of The Black Angels, Moon Duo, Dirty Beaches and Disappears. Their debut album τους came out in Spring 2014 by Inner Ear 2014. The band's sound has been described as "strangely optimistic, placed in the realm of 50’s rock".
ZEBRA TRACKS
Zissis Zante (bass), Nicholas Smyrlakis (drums), Antonis Kavadias (vocals, guitar), Yorgos Nikas (vocals, guitar)
Named after the worst song by the Young Marble Giants, they like mingling post punk and shoegaze sounds. Silicone Valley/Borealis Fallacia was their debut single, released by BuySomeRecords in 2006. The eponymous EP came out in 2007, followed by their first full record “A Family Picture From...” in 2009, supported by Sonic Playground. This family photo, applauded by critics and awarded for its sleeve, ushered in a fruitful three-year period for the Zebras, in terms of personal projects as well as concerts and festivals, (like Eject), in Greece and Europe, next to such names as Placebo, Faith No More, Unkle, Yeasayer, Kaiser Chiefs, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Levellers, The Subways, Long Blondes, No Age, Good Shoes, Television Personalities, The Chap, etc. The singles ‘Isabelle Creeps’/‘Bicycles’ came out in the autumn of 2011, while the LP “Collective Guilt” by Limited Fanfare (Miami, FL) and UNDO was praised by critics and blogosphere listeners alike in the summer of ‘12. The EP “Grains Of Sand” came out last May as a precursor to their third record, “Waves”, released in February 2015 by six d.o.g.s records.

THE MIGHTY N
Natasha Tsirou (vocals, guitar), Konstantinos Kapsimallis (el. guitar), Alexis Zorbas (el. guitar), Kostis Vichos (bass), Nikos Pagonis (drums)
Natasha Tsirou formed her first rock band at 14, wishing to be a drummer but ending up singing and palying the electric guitar. She studied classical piano and singing, eventually to opt for jazz... she won a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music but finally chose to attend the Conservatorium of Amsterdam, declaring she will be an actress when she grows up. ‘THE MIGHTY N’ is the pseudonym she uses to confuse herself and others, and ‘Songs for the X generation’ is the title she gave to the English-language record released by Sound of Everything in December 2013, which she signs as lyricist, musician, singer, composer, orchestrator and producer. It is a paradoxical yet compatible mix of alternative, progressive rock and jazz elements with influences from Nirvana, Faith no more, Jeff Buckley, Porcupine Tree, etc. She is currently working on her next record, which is scheduled for 2016.
