Jazz Concerts | The NC State Orchestra at FOUGARO

A special jazz evening is coming to Nafplio!

This May, FOUGARO ARTCENTER welcomes, on their first stop in Greece, the musical ensembles of North Carolina State University for a unique open-air concert filled with rhythm, energy, and explosive jazz improvisations.

On Sunday, May 24 at 8 pm, FOUGARO’s PLAZA will come alive with the sounds of the NC State Jazz Orchestra and the university’s music ensembles, in a free-admission concert that promises to captivate the audience.

Under the direction of Wes Parker, three dynamic ensembles — the Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Lab Band, and Jazz Studio Band — featuring more than 30 talented musicians from one of North Carolina’s leading university jazz programs, will take the stage.

Wes Parker has performed as a trombonist alongside internationally renowned artists such as Branford Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis Jr., Aretha Franklin, Placido Domingo, and the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra.
