Karaghiozis shows
FOUGARO ARTCENTER welcomes the well-known shadow-theatre performer Stratos Kambisioulis for two shows this summer!
One of the youngest artists of shadow theatre, with one foot on tradition and the other on the present time, Stratos Kambisioulis has prepared a unique programme for adults and children that features traditional music from all over Greece, some terrific special effects and, of course, the timeless quips of Karaghiozis!
We'll be expecting you — and, as Karaghiozis says, we'll eat and we'll drink, and… we'll go to bed hungry!!!
Before each show, Stratos Kambisioulis will talk to the audience about how Karaghiozis is performed and about the play of the day. The children will see the figure of Karaghiozis from up close and will see how a single person does all the voices! After the show, fans of all ages can chat with the performer and have their photograph taken with him! Our young friends will be presented with a paper-cutting figure which they can build as they like it!

Environmental pollution & Karaghiozis the Explorer
In this play Karaghiozis presents in his own way the importance of the natural environment in our lives. In his effort to save the environment, our barefoot hero gets tangled up in a major adventure that will upset all aspects of his life! The show features his close friends—Morfonios, Stavrakas, Barbayorgos and many others. Do you think that all of them together will make it?
… to be continued on stage...

Stratos Kambisioulis
Perhaps the youngest Karaghiozis performer in our country, Stratos was born in Athens in 2007 to a family that comes from Arcadia. He started as an apprentice and assistant in shows at the age of 9, and has since collaborated with numerous artists. These days he performs his own shows with themes and messages of our own time, extending the popularity of shadow theatre among the younger generations as well.
