making a Polargraph

in the context of Summer Day Camp 2024
with Funky Dragons
Wednesday 27 July

“Can art combine with technology? Find out the answer by making your own Polargraph, a vertical printer that turns into brush strokes any image you feed to it! Arduino, Processing 2, motor drives and marker pens come together in a hands-on workshop for us to explore geometry, engineering, electronics and programming. Join us in creating artworks beyond the boundaries of imagination!”

In the context of the thematic weeks of Summer Day Camp 2024 at Fougaro, on Wednesday 27 July we host the Funky Dragons team for an original workshop of art and technology!

Guided by the Funky Dragons team and formed into groups, the older children of our Summer Day Camp will create three 3 PolarGraphs!

The Polargraph is a vertical printer based on Arduino, which can be fitted with different painting tools and operates on the basis of polar coordinates and triangulation. This workshop is about creating a Polargraph, analysing it and experimenting with it. The children are initiated into the world of Arduino and come into contact with coding, design and 3D printing. They also get to learn about polar coordinates and triangulation, how they are used in CNC machines and how we can create art through technology and Installations.
